Great change demands great leadership

It’s a bit of a cliche, but change will never be as slow as it is right now.

The pace keeps accelerating, putting intense pressure on large, historically successful companies to keep up with smaller, faster competitors and a radically changing set of consumer expectations.

But, for every Kodak, there’s a T-Mobile. CEOs of large companies looking to grow at start-up speed are embracing the change. To unlock new growth, they are investing in their people to evolve their culture, recommitting to a clear brand purpose and accelerating product and business model exploration.

But, most importantly, they are communicating to their teams the things that *aren’t* changing: Values, mission, strategies, and priorities.

After all, it’s hard to grow without roots.

A thought leader among modern marketers, Jim brings a whole pile of experience (from start-ups to big brands), wisdom and humility to the GoKart garage. We say we’re lucky to have him, he says he’s lucky to be here… it’s a fight neither of us will win. He’s a man of diverse passions. Jim could open a restaurant, create its brand, craft the menu, cook the food, brew the beer and deliver it by bicycle (even if you live 100 miles away).
